Product Modeling

A picture may be worth a thousand words; but a model is worth a thousand pictures.

Part of IGLOO’s service is responsibility for producing models at various points in the development process. We work with a number of suppliers (world wide)  who make use of a wide variety of technologies (including STL, CNC, ABS Wiring, SLA) for this purpose.
Models are an important part of the product development process. Through them we appraise the design and engineering of the product and are able to make educated decisions before entering into heavy investments in molds and production tools. A prototype is a 1:1 model of the product’s design and engineering and makes it possible to see, feel, and try out the product before entering into large-scale manufacture. More complex products usually require several prototype iterations before conclusive results and satisfaction are reached. Models also fulfill marketing functions – they can be used to introduce the product to customers and investors, produce advertising materials, be displayed at exhibitions, and the like.
